Dr. Srilata Puru Naik is a super specialist in Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine with more than 10 years of rich and varied expertise in all areas of the chest /respiratory disorders. She did her MBBS from Shri B M Patil Medical College, Bijapur; MD in Respiratory Medicine from JSS Medical College, Mysore and Diploma in Allergy & Asthma (DAA) from CMC Vellore, in collaboration with International Asthma Services – Colorado, USA, American Academy of Allergy, Asthma and Immunology & Center for Global Health, University of Colorado, USA.
She has a keen interest in the management of allergy, asthma, interstitial lung disease, Interventional Pulmonology, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease and sleep medicine. She is active member of European Respiratory Society, European Academy of Allergy and Clinical Immunology.
She played numerous roles during the pandemic: evaluating patients with respiratory complaints as an outpatient; evaluating patients in the emergency room; consulting and treating patients in the hospital; monitoring and managing patients who critically need the intensive care unit; communicating with patients and their families; and, providing virtual visit services for patients who are recovering slowly but are too sick to come into the office. She has also been treating post COVID sequelae cases from the infection providing a holistic comprehensive pulmonary rehabilitation program aimed to help the patients who have recovered from COVID-19 to regain their physical activity levels, reduce dependence on supplemental oxygen, improve quality of life and most importantly cope better with the emotional and psychological impact of the disease.
